Rachelle Chattin Secretary

(Lavon) Rachelle Chattin has been a resident of Kentucky since 1988. She is the mother of seven and grandmother of 17 (and still growing), many of which reside within the local area.

Rachelle currently volunteers for a number of worthwhile organizations in Frankfort. She is the Secretary for Focus on Race Relations (FORR), the Treasurer for Wanda Joyce Robinson Foundation and the Secretary/Treasurer for Frankfort Immigration Assistance Network (FIAN).

Rachelle has experienced 30 years of working in the legal field for the defense, working as a paralegal/administrative assistant for the law office of Kevin McNally. That firm handled local and state cases, at the trial, appellate and post-conviction levels (other attorneys at office were Gail Robinson and Margaret O’Donnell). However, the major focus of their practice was federal level death penalty work through the Federal Death Penalty Resource Counsel Project. Since 1992, this program has been funded by the Defender Services Office of the Administrative Office of the United States Courts, designed to assist the federal courts, federal defenders and appointed counsel in connection with matters relating to the defense function in federal capital cases at the trial level.

During that time, Rachelle’s work duties covered: maintaining a national database of statistics for defendants facing a capital prosecution; maintaining lists (address, e-mail); preparing budget submission and maintaining figures throughout the year; administration of trainings (150 to 300 in attendance) & all administrative aspects of an office, including: payroll, expenses, income, etc.
